Answering questions from journalists aboard his flight to Australia, Benedict touched briefly on the turmoil in the Anglican church.

Hello there! In order to understand fully what Holy Mother Church teaches, it's wiser to understand Catholic basics first. So, here we go. Let's start with Lesson 1.

Lesson 1: Religion

1. What is the purpose of these lessons?

To fill in what is missing in the lives of so many people - the knowledge and practice of true religion.

"The heart of the wise seeketh instruction: and the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness." (Proverbs 15:14).

2. Why ...

O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the graces which God bestows upon us wretched creatures, and for this end has He made thee so powerful, so rich, so kind, in order that thou mayest assist us in our miseries. Thou art the advocate of the most miserable and abandoned criminals, who have recourse to thee. Help me, then, who recommend myself to ...

The Feast of Corpus Christi

"Do this in memory of me"

THE YEAR MADE HOLY

Msgr. Matthias Premm

THE name of this feast means the Body of Christ, that is, the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ as present in the Eucharist.

What is the meaning of the feast? Let us imagine for a moment that the Savior had instituted all the other sacraments, but not the Sacrament of the Altar. There would then be no Mass, no Communion, and during the day Jesus would not be present in our churches. How desolate ...

NFP is something that Catholic couples can only lawfully use under certain circumstances. It is an exception morally, and it is never to be the rule. I can think of three cases where it could be used morally: danger of health for one of the spouses (more likely that of the woman I would imagine), extreme poverty (when it would be impossible to adequately raise children or have more children), and imprisonment (like in a Communist prison for a long period of time).

A GENTLE REMINDER TO ALL CATHOLICS:

Today May 1, 2008 Thursday is the 40th day after the feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord from the dead and Holy Mother Church obliges all her children to keep this day holy “by assisting (attending, Ed.) at a complete Mass with attention and devotion and by resting from all works that requires the labor of the body more than of the mind (2 HRS WORK IS CONSIDERED AS A SERVILE WORK.
Here are the Mass propers for this Sunday. Have a great understanding of them!

This Sunday and the whole week should serve as a preparation for the festival of Pentecost, that we may be enabled by good works and pious devotional exercises, to receive the gifts of the Holy Ghost. At the Introit the Church sings:

INTROIT

Rev. Fr. Leonard Goffine's

The Church's Year

INSTRUCTION ON THE FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER EASTER

In thanks for the redemption the Church sings at the Introit:
